A lot of people play badly if they start losing, that can make them go on tilt, play worse and lose even more! Poker is a game of psychology, and if you think you’re losing or playing badly you probably will lose!
Good players, who have a positive EV should continue to play if they are winning, but some amateurs quit when they are ahead, when they should keep going, and keep going for too long when they’re losing when really they should stop playing!
You should really have a “game plan” – lay down some rules where you’re away from the table, when you’re not emotionally attached to the game, and then stick to those rules when you’re at the table… that way you don’t have to make a tough decision at the table!
