Well it’s that time again. There have already been 56 WSOP gold bracelet winners this year, but there is still one event to be decided… The World Series Of Poker Main Event!
Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey and Allen Cunningham joint favorites to win at 100/1 according to William Hill, but it really is anybody’s game, with such a massive field it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite.
This year’s WSOP has seen a 20% increase in numbers, and the number of players in the main event is also expected to be way up on last year. 6,494 players sat down in the tournament last year, either entering through a satellite or putting up the $10,000 buy-in themselves, and today sees this year’s main event get underway. Thousands will enter, some will cash, but only 9 will make it to the final table… and only one will take the first place prize money, gold bracelet and title of World Series Champion… let the game begin!
