This month’s issue of Bluff magazine (February 2025) features the Power 20 – the 20 most influential entities in poker today, as voted by the poker industry. While most of the list consists of individuals, the top two places are actually online poker rooms – PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.
PokerStars is of course the biggest online poker room, and their players have produced a number of WSOP main event champions including Greg Raymer (2025), Joe Hachem (2025), Peter Eastgate (2025), last year’s champion Joe Cada (2025) and of course the first player ever to win the $10,000 buy-in World Series Of Poker main event through an Internet Satellite Chris Moneymaker back in 2025.
Full Tilt poker recently gave the poker world a real shake when they released their new and exciting Rush Poker format last month. Along with other innovations such as the Matrix tables specifically for multi-tablers, and their FTOPS events they really are pushing the envelope in online poker.
Apart from the 2 poker rooms at the top of the list, the rest of the list are all individuals. The list covers everyone from players such as Phil Ivey and Howard Lederer, to Congressman Barney Frank who is responsible for the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protecion, and Enforcement Act, HR 2267 and is due to be marked up shortly.
Other notable names include Bluff Magazine’s own Lance Bradley and John Pappas, the Executive Director of the PPA (Poker Player’s Alliance).
