Phill Hellmuth – great laydown against a full house
Here’s an interesting hands featuring one of the best poker players in the world, Phil Hellmuth. OK, so he’s not the most modest guy in the world but hey, if you had won 11 WSOP bracelets you’d probably be quite cocky too!
Phil is holding AK against pocket aces. The flop comes 44A giving him top two pair with a king kicker – many people would play that right to the showdown no matter what their opponent did, but not Phil. He read his opponent well and avoided losing a lot of chips to his opponent’s full house.
The video quality is quite poor but its still worth watching, you can learn an aweful lot from studying plays like this one.
