Introduction to 7 Card Stud Poker
While Texas Hold’em is still by far the most popular poker game both online and offline, several other poker variations are also quite popular. In this short video you’ll learn the basic format of 7 card stud.
Essentially each player is dealt 2 hole cards (like in holdem) but then rather than a round of betting at this point, each player is dealt a single “up” card – i.e. a card face up for all the players to see.
Betting then starts with the action on the player with the lowest up card. Then each player is dealt another up card (fourth street) and there is another round of betting, but this time (and in all other rounds) the action starts with the player who has the highest hand showing. This is followed by 2 more rounds of an additional up card each, and finally the last round (7th street) has the final card dealt face down (down and dirty!)
Players make the best 5 card hand using any of their 7 cards.
