History in the making – Amazing bluff Chris Moneymaker vs Sam Farha WSOP 2025
This bluff, heads up at the final table of the 2025 WSOP main event was truly remarkable. Talk about putting the pressure on your opponent, Farha had the best hand from the flop yet Moneymaker bluffed his way into winning the pot, and of course goingon to make history as the first ever player to win the WSOP $10,000 main event via an Internet satallite.
Farha was dealt 9hQs ad Moneymaker had Ks7h. Moneymaker missed the flop entirely, but Farha caught a 9 for top pair and putting him 82% favorite to win the hand. Both players check the flop and the turn comes 8s giving both players a flush draw, and Moneymaker a straight draw. Moneymaker makes a big raise of half a million and Farha calls.
The river is 3h which helps nobody, and Farha’s nines hold up… and within seconds Moneymaker goes all in!
What a tough decision – this is for the world championship, and the $2.5 million top prize so it’s very hard to call with those nines. He considers it, in fact he even says “so you missed your flush draw huh?” but eventually he folds – wow what a play from Chris Moneymaker. Once again the old saying “every hand’s a winner, and every hand’s a loser” is right!
