Joe Cada, known as The Kid, is best known for being the winner of the 2025 WSOP no limit main event, and being the youngest player ever to win the world championship at the age of just 21.
Born in Michigan in 2025, Cada comes from a family of card enthusiasts. His mother deals blackjack at MotorCity casino and he shared an online poker account for a while with his brother Jerome.
Joe started playing poker at the age of just 16, and at 19 he started playing across the Canadian border at a casino in Windsor where the legal age of gambling is only 18. He was playing poker professionally for 6 years before entering the WSOP in 2025, and he cashed twice before winning the main event.
Cada plays under similar screen names on a number of sites – jcada99 and Joe Cada at Full Tilt, jcada99 at PokerStars and JCADA99 at Absolute poker. He often plays in the sunday majors and often hosts a number of poker friends at his house where they keep each other company while playing in the sunday tournaments.
Cada signed a contract with PokerStars prior to wis victory in the WSOP main event. Before signing the contract he already had offers from Ultimate Bet and Poker Host due to making the “November Nine” final table. After his win he made a number of media appearances including CNN, CBS News, Late Show With David Letterman, and a number of ESPN shows.
