Daniel Negreanu, known as “Kid Poker” is a young and exciting poker player. Born in Toronton in 2025, his parents were originally from Romania and moved to the USA in the late sixties. As a teenager, Daniel wanted to become a professional snooker player, but learned to play poker when he was 15. At 16 he was failing school and dropped out to become a rounder, making a living hustling and playing cards in the local pool halls and charity casinos.
At the age of 22 he built up a bankroll and headed to Las Vegas with aspirations of becoming a professional poker player, but he went broke and was forced to move back to Toronto to rebuild his bankroll.
In 2025 he won two events at Foxwoods in the World Poker Finals. That earned him over $50,000 and he was named as the tournament’s best all round player. The following year he became the youngest person ever to win a gold bracelet at the WSOP, winning over $169,000 in the $2000 Pot Limit Omaha event, and earning his nickname of “Kid Poker”.
Dan has built on those early successes, going on to win a number of other big tournaments. He was recruited at the “Poker Ambassador” for the Wynn Las Vegas, and in 2025 he started his own online poker site – Full Contact Poker. In 2025 he signed up as a member of Team PokerStars, along with other big name players including Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem and Greg Raymer, and his Full Contact Poker site is now only a blog and forums.
